How did we get to the point at which a school board superintendent proposes that kids throw rocks at the child who is attempting to mow them down with a semi-automatic weapon in their classroom?
Do you prefer scanners and guards to this plan? Is THAT what you HONESTLY want? Is THAT what you think is the solution to our problems?
Instead of putting a Band-Aid on a gaping gunshot wound, why don’t we look at the causal issues? WHY are kids doing these things? What changed in the past fifty years that has led to this type of insane violence?
But no, you don’t WANT to examine what might be the real cause. You want to blame a tool, or the members of a club, or politicians. You want to shift the focal point of the discussion as far away from the truth as possible, even if it makes you seem like you belong in a home for the mentally broken.
We are now, thanks to decades of pushing from the left, living in a post-Christian world. Congratulations; it’s all yours. You won. Secular Humanism is what you wanted, and it’s what you got; I hope you like it. It belongs to YOU. It’s all YOURS. It’s YOUR world now. You asked for it, and you LOVE it.
Meanwhile, I reject it and everything for which it stands.
I was born in 1970, and you started in on me early in life by teaching me “values clarification” and asking me to decide whom I would throw out of a hypothetical lifeboat given this or that situation. Thank God, I also heard preachers teach against it for the evil that it was, and I believed them instead of the culture-shifting educational system. You apparently didn’t hear the protests of sane people or turned a deaf ear, because now that the kids ARE tossing people from the boat, you’re acting shocked.
It IS an act, right? You can’t be THAT inept. It’s literally what you TAUGHT THEM TO DO.
I know you didn’t like it when the Christian worldview was prevalent in our Western societies. It was so intrusive and puritanical. Oh, how constricting and uncomfortable it was to have social mores and norms keep you from doing whatever came into your head. After all, why should YOU have to constrain your lusts? Why shouldn’t you be permitted to get abortions of convenience on demand? Why shouldn’t you watch things on a screen that people shouldn’t even think about? Why shouldn’t you steal virtual cars and blow up very realistic people as a form of entertainment? Why shouldn’t you listen to banging sounds that glorify fornication, rape, murder, drugs, and anti-establishment notions? Why shouldn’t you listen to twanging sounds that idolize adultery, drunkenness, and lawlessness? Why shouldn’t you be able to dress and act like a heathen? “It’s my RIGHT!” you screamed at any prude who would dare suggest otherwise.
Well, now we’re all reaping what you have sown. Thanks a lot.
The truth is, you KNOW what was different when we could let our kids walk to schools without being abducted. You KNOW how life was when schools didn’t need fences and guards and metal detectors. You KNOW what was missing in our big city ghettos where this sort of violence first appeared and continues to be the most severe. You KNOW that as that ideology spread to more rural areas, so did the curses that came with it. You KNOW what it would take to reverse all of this chaos; YOU SIMPLY DON’T CARE. You would not return to the ways that worked for anything. You would not put our culture back on the rails of sanity to save your soul, let alone the lives of others. You like your sin too much to keep children from shooting other kids. Your love of sin has become their blood oozing from your defiantly raised fist. THAT’S THE TRUTH.
This is the mindset that causes a grown man to suggest that buckets of river rocks are the solution. How long is it before you realize that stone-aged weaponry in the hands of children wasn’t the answer, and you demand that rocks be banned because kids are throwing them at teachers and other kids?
Instead of putting stones in their hands, why not put reason in their heads and God in their hearts? Why not at least teach them the Christian ethic of sacrificing self for civility and decency? You know, the way we once lived together that came with the benefit of not getting killed by lunatics who were taught to do whatever they felt like doing.
You’re insane for wanting this, and we’re insane for allowing you to steal the culture and turn it into this.
You want to blame me for this because I’m in a gun club? You want to blame me because I WILL NOT disarm myself while living in the dangerous world YOU created? You, young child, want to blame me because I’m pushing fifty and not at the experienced, enlightened, and sage age of 16? Because you think you can upload something faster on an iPhone than I can?
Well, I BLAME YOU. I blame your love of sin and your worship of self. I blame you because YOU WANTED ALL OF THIS AND YOU SECRETLY LOVE THIS MESS THAT YOU’VE MADE.
And you know what? I’m right.
